The Code (Reversed)

Conditioning * Survival * Internal Conflict

The code speaks to the unwritten rules we absorb just by existing in the world and having the experiences we have had. The expectations of behaviour, identity and silences that keep systems intact. This card asks you to examine the ’codes’ you live by, where they came from, who they protect and who they harm. It is about peeling back the layers of social, generational or cultural performances and reclaiming your authentic code. You don’t owe loyalty to ideas that erase your truth. Not all traditions are sacred.

Reversed

The code can reveal internal conflict - being split between who you are and who you have been taught or told to be. It may also reflect moments when you unknowing upheld norms, or continue trying to belong to a group or ideal at the cost or yourself. This card asks you to examine your affiliations, internal and external, are your beliefs yours, or borrowed? Your liberation may require you to break the code.

Most people are not even aware that they conform. They live under the illusion that they follow their own ideas and inclinations.
