The Escape (Reversed)

Fantasy * Resistance * Release

The Escape lives in your mind long before it hits your feet. It is the raw ache of wanting out. It is the rebellion in your chest, the daydream during confinement, your exit scribbled on the back of a napkin that no one is meant to see. It is the fantasy of of freedom and the slow, slow realization that real escape doesn’t come from wishing; it comes from courage and work. Upright, you are dreaming of something different, something freer, softer, truer. That is not a weakness. That is an instinct. The escape reminds you that hope begins with a vision. But this card also asks: are you stuck in fatally, or building a path forward? There’s a difference between needing out and knowing how. Let your longing be a blueprint, not a trap. You can move even if it is slow. You can rebuild, even from rubble.

Reversed

You might be spending too much time in escape mode - avoiding, dissociating, plotting freedom without grounding. Or maybe you are denying reality because it hurts too much. The Escape reversed asks you to name the truth without shame. If you can’t run, start where you are are. Hope is not passive - it is practice. You do not need a flawless plan. You just need a door, a crack, a breath. Start there.

We all run in our heads long before we move our feet.
