The Worker (Reversed)

Patience * Service * Humility

The Worker represents the people holding the line inside imperfect systems — the caseworkers, nurses, outreach staff, clerks, and quiet warriors who keep showing up. They may not be able to fix everything at once, but they offer service with as much heart as they can, in structures that are often slow, overburdened, and unfair. This card reminds us to have patience with those doing the work. Progress may feel like a long wait, but there is dignity in persistence and humility in care given despite the odds.

Reversed

When reversed, the Worker reflects frustration with delay, bitterness toward broken systems, or the temptation to lose trust in those who serve within them. It can also signal the burnout of those same workers — compassion stretched thin by endless need. This card asks you to hold compassion on both sides: patience for the helpers, and gentleness with yourself while you wait. Healing and change take time.

If we have no peace it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
